Ondo Massacre: The Attack On A Catholic Church In Owo Was Done By ISWAP - National Security Council

The National Security Council (NSC) has blamed the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) for the attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State on Sunday, June 5, 2022 which led to the death of 38 persons and several others injured. It should be recalled that ISWAP is a faction of Boko Haram which was formed in 2016.

The terrorist group has claimed responsibility for most attacks before in Nigeria, notably the bomb attack in Taraba State in April 2022.

Reports revealed that these gunmen stormed the church premises in the morning and opened fired on worshipers and passersby. Some group of women in Owo came out to place a curse on those who came to the town to launch the attack

Men of the Nigerian Army have been giving Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and bandits a touch time in the fight against terrorism. Several of them have been eliminated and a few of them surrendered to troops.
