Brave Ondo man fights robber attempting to rape wife, grabs gun

As reported by Punch news, Omoniyi was arrested when he was trying to rape the wife of the man he had robbed at Idanre Local Government Area. The criminal allegedly broke into the flat through the window at around one in the morning and robbed the couple of their money and other important items.


The suspect was displayed by the state police public relations officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, who said that he will soon face charges in court. Odunlami added that Mrs. Tale Akinlabi, the suspect's 55-year-old mother, had been detained for allegedly aiding him in keeping stolen property.

When questioned, Omoniyi, who said he uses motorcycle to earn a living claimed to work alone and to have successfully robbed numerous residents in the community. However, his mother, Akinlabi, denied helping him, claiming that she was unaware of his illicit actions. She also said that he is the only child of 6 children she had for his father that is still living.


However, a police official had said that the suspects will shortly face charges in court.
