Governor Wike’s son graduates from UK university

  By McFross.  Jordan, the son of Rivers State governor and PDP Presidential Primaries aspirant, Nyesom Wike, has bagged a degree in Law from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. Jordan graduated from the UK varsity with a Second Class Upper Division and his father, Wike, mother, Eberechi, sister, Jasmine, alongside Oyo and Abia States Governors, Seyi Makinde and Okezie Ikpeazu, showed up at his graduation ceremony that held recently.   By McFross.  President Muhammadu Buhari has bemoaned the prolonged strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, saying enough is enough. The president stated this on Monday in Daura, Katsina State, when he received some governors of the All Progressives Congress, legislators, and other political leaders at his residence.  He enjoined the lecturers to reconsider their stance on the prolonged strike, noting that the crisis would have generational consequences for families, the educational system, and the future development of the country. “I hope that ASUU will sympathise with the people on the prolonged strike. Truly, enough is enough for keeping students at home. Eleven Killed As Bandits Invade Farms In Zamfara Community

  By McFross.  At eleven people have been killed by bandits in Dangulbi community, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. On Sunday afternoon, July 10, bandits to a notorious kingpin Damina,reportedly stormed various farms in the community and took the lives of about 11 people with several others unaccounted for. Spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, Mohammed Shehu,who confirmed the casualty figure to Channels Television on Monday morning, stated that the police authorities have since deployed a reinforcement team to the area to restore calm and normalcy in the community. 35 Cyclists To Represent Nigeria At Second Africa Cup Track Cycling Championship

  By McFross.  The Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN) has picked 35 cyclists to represent Nigeria at the second Africa Cup Track Cycling Championship holding from Thursday to July 17 in Abuja. Bashir Mohammed, CFN’s Technical Director, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the cyclists were picked from the elite and junior teams camped in Abuja. ”They have been undergoing intensive training for over four months at the velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium,” he said. Mohammed said the team of cyclists would participate in several events at the championship. NAN reports that the Nigerian team will compete in events in both the junior and elite levels in the male and female categories. The 35 cyclists will be divided into two teams of 17 for the juniors and 18 for the elite. South African court sentences ‘Boko Haram’ gang to 384 years in jail

  By McFross.  The Limpopo High Court, Polokwane, South Africa, has sentenced three members of a gang known as “Boko Haram” to a total jail term of 384 years. The convicts, identified as Ndou Lukase Rembuluwani and Ndou Ben (both 29) and Khoza Ngobeni Small (28), were convicted for a series of crimes they committed between September and October 2017. After being found guilty on a total of 25 charges against them, they were sentenced to prison on Tuesday. The charges included murder, attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, and housebreaking with the intention of robbing. Other counts bordered on theft, robbery, and malicious damage to property, The Citizen reports.  The trio were also convicted of contravening immigration laws for being in South Africa illegally. A couple of hours ago, rumours about the husband of Actress Regina Daniels meeting Emmanuella’s parents in order to get a marriage list went viral and subsequently stirred reactions among netizens. A concerned fan drew Emmanuella’s attention to the rumour while urging her not to take such a step if it was true. She further advised her not to ruin her future by embracing a union as such. Simi who recently opened up on the guidelines of being a celeb, and inspiration behind her TBH album, was just named the first Nigerian female artiste to hit 100 million streams on the music streaming platform, Boomplay.
